Chlorum Solutions, which installs and operates “mini-factories” of chlorine for its clients, has signed a management contract for the former chemical units of Compass Minerals in Brazil, purchased by Cape Participação for R$ 236 million.
Cape bought the chlor-alkali factory located in Igarassu (PE) and the chemical units for water treatment in Marechal Deodoro (AL) and Suzano (SP). With this operation, Compass Minerals concludes the process of selling operational assets in the country.
With the agreement, Chlorum consolidates its position in the chlor-alkali industry in Brazil, particularly in the Northeast region.
“Unlike Chlorum’s greenfield chlor-alkali projects, which are inherently sustainable, this operation will be a case of transformation, under the company’s responsibility,” it states in a note.
