The only chlor-alkali plant in Pernambuco
Acquired in 2022 by CAPE Participações and operated by Chlorum, this plant located in Recife – PE supplies the state of Pernambuco and the region since 1960. With a production capacity of 125 metric tons of chlorine per day, it supplies caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid, and liquefied chlorine to essential industries such as cleaning products and water treatment, and provides raw materials over the fence to the only calcium hypochlorite production plant in Latin America. The Recife plant is undergoing a technological transformation process – by 2025, 100% of its capacity will be from membrane technology.

Regional Development and Social Responsibility In addition to contributing to the generation of direct and indirect jobs, the unit fosters local development through social projects in the region, such as the Jovem Aprendiz Program, which provides technical training for young people in the area to enter the job market.
